We offer these guidelines to assist you in describing your preferred riding style and to aid you when forming groups. It is important to remember that when riding with others, your actual pace will depend on the size and disposition of the group and will likely be somewhat different than it would be if you were riding alone. Also, keep in mind that no matter who you ride with, it is YOUR responsibility to set and maintain your own safe pace.
¤ Fast pace ¤
Sticky tires scuffed to the edges. Quick and nimble through the twisties. Spirited use of throttle and brakes.
¤ Sporting pace ¤
Performance tires evenly worn to within 1/4"-1/2" of the edges. Brisk, with controlled use of the engine to navigate the roadway.
¤ Standard pace ¤
Tires evenly worn with possibly a bit more wear down the center. Middle of the road - neither fast nor slow - willing to wick it up or slow it down as desired but generally going along with the flow of traffic.
¤ Touring pace ¤
Likely long-lasting touring type tires with more wear concentrated towards the center of the tread. Moderate, steady, consistent - an all day kind of pace.
¤ Leisurely pace ¤
Tires with very little wear on the sides. Comfortable, easy, unhurried.
